ReFX Vanguard
Size: 7 MB
A remake of the old reFX Vanguard 1 VST exclusively from community. It’s not reverse-engineered, but meticulously measured and recreated, making it technically its own independent instrument while staying as close to the original as possible. The Source Code is provided in the zip File as well for you to inspect or reuse, I claim no ownership whatsoever. You can compile it for Mac and Linux as well.
It loads the original presets, that sound approximately 99% similar to the originals, at least you can’t hear the difference if you want to ignore the minor differences. The GUI features a classic 2000s Frutiger Aero aesthetic, with glossy surfaces, gradients, and that distinctly nostalgic early-digital look.
It also includes preset-class randomizers to generate variations within specific preset categories.
